Frequently Asked Questions:

Is pre-ordering my study guide required? While not required, participants receive a discounted rate when pre-ordering.

I'm not able to attend the kick-off session. How can I claim my study materials? Workbooks will be distributed at our kick-off session to enable participants to fully prepare for Session 1. Your attendance is strongly encouraged! If you are unable to join us, please see your study facilitator on or after October 22 to receive your program materials.

If I can't complete my home study preparation, should I still come to class? Absolutely! While faithful completion of the weekly home study enables participants to deepen their experience of small-group sharing, we recognize that busy schedules can sometimes hinder the best of intentions. Your presence among us is always welcome! The group session recaps, weekly videos, and participant discussion periods will still offer key insights while fellowship and community building are invaluable benefits you won't want to miss!

Gain, Gather and Grow in Wisdom. Sacred Scripture and Tradition contains an abundance of wisdom on marriage and family, friendship, finances, moral decision-making, attaining inner peace and so much more. While the Church provides a beautiful vision for happiness and well-being, our challenge often lies in applying its wisdom to daily life.

Without proper spiritual direction, we struggle in our relationships, our speech, our finances, our choices, and every other important aspect of our lives. This study seeks to draw on the literary teachings of the Bible—Proverbs, Wisdom, Sirach and Ecclesiastes—to help participants gain, gather and grow in God’s wisdom.

In this study, you will:

  • Discover what wisdom is...and what it is not!
  • Gain tools for sound guidance and decision-making
  • Gather fruitful teaching for navigating life according to God’s vision
  • Grow in the kind of wisdom that nurtures peace of mind and brings about true joy

Participant Study Guide:

  • Includes discussion questions and responses
  • Lectio Divina
  • Space for journaling
  • Talk notes accompany video presentations

DVD Teaching Series:

  • 25-minute teaching video hosted by theologian, Jeff Cavins
  • Prompts lively discussion
  • Provides important additional content for applying lessons to everyday life

Jeff Cavins received his MA in Theology from Franciscan University of Steubenville. He is recognized both nationally and internationally as one of the most effective and engaging speakers in the Church today. For over two decades, Jeff has been a leading figure in Catholic media, appearing as a guest and host on Catholic radio and television hundreds of times. Few can communicate their love for Christ Jesus with as much zeal, clarity, and enthusiasm he does. After twelve years as a Protestant pastor, Jeff’s conversion story, one of the best known and inspiring of its kind, is chronicled in his best-selling book, My Life on the Rock. Jeff has dedicated his life to developing The Great Adventure: A Journey through the Bible, a practical, interactive program that helps people understand the “big picture” of Sacred Scripture and God’s plan of salvation. Since 1995, the unique Bible Timeline learning system behind the Great Adventure series has revolutionized Catholic Bible Study for hundreds of thousands of Catholics.
