Music ministries are integral to our worship and also provide the opportunity for parishioners to use their musical talents in service to our community. We welcome new participants in our music programs throughout the year; if you are interested, please contact us!
Sunday 9 am Music Group
This group consists of vocalists and instrumentalists who lead music at the 9 am Sunday Mass. We rehearse Sunday mornings prior to Mass, and welcome participants of all ages. For more information, contact Paula Schmitz at (253) 286-0028.
Adult Choir
Members of the Adult Choir lead music at the Saturday 5 pm and Sunday 11 am weekend liturgies, joining together for rehearsals on Thursday evenings, and special holy day liturgies. We enjoy singing all styles of choral music, and welcome members of any age, although vocal scoring is best suited for adult voices. For more information, contact Paula Schmitz at (253) 286-0028.
Children's Choir and Youth Choir opportunities
We hope to resume ministry for our young musicians when pandemic restrictions have eased. Contact Paula Schmitz at (253) 286-0028 to indicate interest in being on our contact list.
Other Music Opportunities
Cantors lead music on occasions as needed. Cantors may also participate with our other music groups. We also welcome instrumentalists and accompanists to assist at our liturgies both for special occasions and on a regular basis. There are many gifts, but the same Spirit... Those of us leading music programs are committed to helping you discern the "right place" to participate in music ministry. Some may have the gift of a voice that inspires others in the assembly to sing with enthusiasm... others may have a voice that is not impressive, but when joined en force with others, can be a "joyful noise" for the Lord. Beginning singers and instrumentalists may need time to build skills to join our groups on a regular basis, but we will work with you along the way. Please give us a call, or stop to talk with one of the music leaders after Mass.
